Grown in Britain Hero

6 March 2019

The Grown in Britain Hero of 2018 has been announced as John Cosford from BAM Construct.

Mr Cosford has supported Grown in Britain’s work from its inception in 2013.

He continues to be a champion for the cause through his role as regional buyer for BAM Construction, urging all suppliers to get a Grown in Britain licence and support local jobs and forests.

Mr Cosford is the fourth Grown in Britain Woodland Hero, following in the footsteps of Sally Spencer, TTJ deputy editor in 2017, Dr Dan Ridley Ellis, head of the Wood Science & Technology Centre at Edinburgh Napier University in 2016, and Ted Jefferis, bespoke furniture-maker in 2015.

“John is an amazing ambassador for Grown in Britain, supporting our work to boost the use of home-grown timber in construction from the very start of our journey,” said Grown in Britain chief executive Dougal Driver at the award ceremony on the February 15.
