Timber Expo: Spanish connection

5 October 2013

Spanish engineered timber company Egoin finished its first UK project just before it exhibited at Timber Expo.

The family-owned company opened an office in Edinburgh last year and has a website dedicated to the UK market.

Egoin offers a design, manufacture and erection service for its glulam beams, crosslaminated timber (CLT) walls and insulated CLT floor and roof panels. Project manager Eneko Zaldibar said most of Egoin's output is made from Spanish-grown, PEFCcertified radiata pine, but it can also use whitewood and larch.

Mr Zaldibar sees great potential in the UK market.

"People in the UK are very interested in timber," he said.
