China’s woodworking machinery exports rise

The total value of China’s woodworking machinery exports increased by 3% in 2013 to US$2.31bn.

According to the ITTO, the value of exports to all markets increased over 2012. The main export markets were Europe (35%); North America (40%); Asia (23%) and Central and South America (5%).

Most of China's imports of wood-processing machinery were from Europe and Asia, which together accounted for 97% of transactions.

The value of China's imports of wood-based panel machinery from Europe fell by 75% as supplies from Asia and North America rose sharply bu 607% and 557% respectively.
