Covers opens new mill

Chichester-based merchanting group Covers Timber & Builders Merchants has celebrated the launch of its renewed timber mill on September 16.

The opening of the renewed and improved mill completes two years’ of investment in timber services by Covers. This includes improving the range of hardwood timber stocks within a new hardwood shed and new timber treatment facilities.

Covers said its considerable investment in Weinig planing and moulding machines, the production line and building extension comes at a time when demand for machined timber remains strong.

Councillor Tony Dignum, leader of Chichester District Council, was invited to the event to officially unveil the mill. The mill opening, Covers added, would add to the already extensive list of products and services it offered.

“Covers’ investment in the renewed mill comes at a time when business in this sector has seen a strong return for the company,” it said.
