CTI launches and new CEO unveiled

11 June 2015

Dirk Vennix was unveiled as the CEO of the Confederation of Timber Industries (CTI) at the organisation’s launch yesterday in London.

Dutchman Mr Vennix gave an impassioned speech, talking of his great affinity for wood and his desire to promote timber’s cause through the CTI – a new independent umbrella body designed to give the industry a united voice and champion the interests of the sector.

Timber Trade Federation (TTF) interim chief executive David Lennan demonstrated the new CTI website and said some 27 bodies - ranging from universities to trade associations - had already pledged their support.

Guest speaker Peter Bonfield, CEO of the BRE, said the launch of the CTI was one of the biggest things to happen to the timber sector in about 30 years and he called for others sector groups and organisations to get behind the initiative.
