Fire at M&M Timber

11 January 2019

Fire crews worked through the night on January 10 at M&M Timber’s Kidderminster site dealing with a fire in a wood processing plant.

Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service responded to the fire at the Clows Top site with six fire crews. When they arrived a 40m by 20m area of the single-storey wood processing plant was well alight.

At its height, 30 firefighters from four fire stations across the two counties were in attendance – also assisted by colleagues from Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service. In addition to the timber, risks included the presence of oxy acetylene cylinders, asbestos in the roof materials, and the structural damage of the fire.

A fire investigation team is looking into the cause of the fire.
