Homag and Hundegger strategic partnership for timber construction

The aim is to depict the complete process chain in wood and prefabricated house construction and to expand the solution competence of both companies.

Homag – the world’s largest woodworking machinery producer – has the Weinmann brand of specialist machines and plants for the production of timber frame elements. Hundegger is a leading supplier of beam processing machines and equipment as well as solid wood handling portals.

"The joint offer along the entire production process chain is unique,” said Markus Vöge, executive vice president of global sales and marketing at Homag.

“In the future, we will offer our customers end-to-end solutions with integrated software from a single source. We also agreed on intensive co-operation in development projects."

A number of UK timber frame producers and other wood product manufacturers have Weinmann and Hunsdegger technology.

Homag Group has annual sales of €1.3bn, while Hundegger has annual sales of around €100m and has more than 5,300 machines in use worldwide.
