Howarth supports school with donation

The Derby branch of Howarth Timber & Building Supplies has supported a local school with a donation of oak sleepers to build and develop its own vegetable patch.

Meadow Farm Community Primary School put out a request to local businesses for resources to improve both the school and learning experience of the children.

“We were thrilled when Howarth agreed to donate oak sleepers so that we could build a vegetable patch and teach the children about where the food on their plate comes from,” said Samantha Eyre, headteacher.

“When the request came in, we were more than happy to help out,” said Talsa Middleton, Derby branch manager. “As a company, we often support community projects and knowing that the oak sleepers and new vegetable patch will be used for years to come is certainly good to know. We wish all the children luck in growing their new vegetables!”
