Illingworth Ingham (Manchester) Ltd has expanded its business by acquiring the trade and assets of Clitheroe-based Waterloo Timber.

As from May 13, the trading name changed to Waterloo Timber, a division of Illingworth Ingham (Manchester) Limited.

The move allows Illingworth Ingham to expand the branch network, offering customers a wider range of timber and sheet materials, plus bespoke machining facilities.

Waterloo’s previous owner Chris Smith will continue to work alongside the management team, developing the customer base and product offering.

Established in 1994, Waterloo supplies trade and DIY alike. Illingworth Ingham hopes to build on its reputation and develop further in all areas of the business.

Illingworth Ingham was founded as a family business in 1929 and is a leading importer of premium timbers, as well as being a timber machining specialist manufacturing mouldings.

Illingworth Ingham (M/cr) Ltd has a 7-acre site in Trafford Park, Manchester, with 150,000ft2 of warehousing, enabling it to stock, machine, treat and finish a wide range of hardwood and softwood timbers. It has over 13 acres of site in total, including 200,000ft2 of undercover space.
