Jarl Timber invests in mill

28 January 2016

Jarl Timber’s board has made a decision to start an investment programme to increase the sawmill’s efficiency.

The investment is starting January 2016 and during the first year will total about €1m.

The improvements are designed to open bottlenecks in the production line, which will increase efficiency by about 20-25%, according to Egil Freitag, managing director at Jarl Timber.

Jarl Timber currently produces annually about 100,000m3 of spruce and pine timber which are sold to Europe, Far East & North Africa.

This investment project is part of the company’s long-term plan to improve its competitiveness.

“South Sweden has been and is a challenging region to operate sawmills and we need to continuously develop the company,” said Sampsa Auvinen, CEO of Norvik Timber Industries, the parent group of Jarl Timber.
