Kebony courts palace show

Kebony has been specified for a treehouse at this year’s RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower show.

The modified timber structure has been built for John Lewis and Quiet Mark, the UK Noise Abatement Society's mark of approval. It was designed by Blue Forest Luxury Treehouses.

"It's been a very exciting project for Kebony to be involved in," said Kebony's head of international sales, Adrian Pye. "It will demonstrate how innovations such as Kebony can be integrated with a building's natural environment."

Blue Forest director Simon Payne said Kebony was a fitting choice because of its strength and environmental credibility.

"Its organic, natural beauty means that it looks fantastic amongst the stunning array of gardens on display at RHS," he said.

The treehouse has a floor space of 46m2 and the main platform stands 4m above the ground. It weighs 25 tonnes and incorporates more than 30km of Kebony cladding.

Jewson and Medite Tricoya also donated materials for the treehouse.

The Quiet Mark Treehouse and Garden by John Lewis will be on display at the show from July 8-13. After the show it will be donated to Chestnut Tree House, a children's hospice in Sussex.
