The PEFC and FSC-certified range will be targeted at interior and exterior applications, particularly for furniture, caravans, partitions, boat building or applications where weight may be an issue as the product is very lightweight.

“I can see lots of opportunities where plywood may have previously not even been considered because of concerns over the quality, the price or the provenance,” said Latham’s director Andrew Wright.

The range has seven different product families, but Lathams will initially offer four of these – Efficiency Poplar; treated Duraply; flame-retardant treated Fireshield; and Elegance Birch, a poplar panel with a birch veneer to the face and back.
