UK modified wood producer Lignia Wood Company has expanded its leadership to strengthen its capabilities ahead of global expansion.

The company, which produces Lignia modified wood from a plant in Barry, South Wales, has recruited Dale Warren, Anthony Carroll and Chris Palmer, who join as purchasing manager, senior technical sales executive and production manager respectively.

The modified wood producer announced a sole distribution agreement with Timber Connection for the UK and Ireland earlier this year.

Lignia is being produced for the construction industry and for yacht decking.

The wood modification process takes FSC-certified softwood and modifies it to create a product which is billed as having the properties of traditional hardwoods.

“Securing the services of these three outstanding specialists is going to have a significant impact on our business as we gear up for UK trade and global exports,” said Hans Ng, CEO of LIGNIA.
