Lords acquires Hussey and Sons

9 January 2017

West London based Lords Builders Merchants has acquired the share capital of E Hussey and Sons Ltd (trading as Hussey and Saunders).

Third generation family business Hussey and Saunders is located in the Beaconsfield, five miles from the western outskirts of London.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to acquire this long standing business from its retiring owners,” said Shanker Patel, CEO of the Lords Group.

“The site at over 3.75 acres provides scope for opportunity to grow the business significantly and for the Lords Group to utilise some of the space at this site for central distribution of selective products.”

Lords intends to make a significant investment in the business over the next two years in order to be able to capture the “opportunities this acquisition presents”.

The company said the site is located just two miles from the M40 with excellent links into West London as well as affluent towns in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

Both businesses are members of the H&B Buying Group and the deal represents the second takeover of a fellow H&B member by Lords.

Following this acquisition, Lords Builders Merchants will operate from three heavy side builders merchants, a specialist civils merchants (George Lines) and three light side merchants.
