Meyer Timber Group has acquired Premium Timber Products Ltd, a joinery products supplier to the DIY retail sector.

The £30m turnover Premium business operates from two sites - Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, and Weare, Somerset, with an annual turnover of £30m, employing some 60 people.

Timber products distributor Meyer Timber Group has seven locations across the country with revenues in the region of £150m. Following completion of the deal, Premium Timber’s managing director Cliff Westley and commercial director David Speck will remain with the business.

“I believe that in Meyer Timber we have found an excellent buyer who will help to steer the business into new areas of growth and expansion in the future,” said Clive Gardner, chief executive of Premium Timber.

Clodagh Muggeridge, corporate finance associate director for deal adviser Baker Tilly, said there had been an increase in buyers for high quality businesses over the last twelve months.
