MTX keeps Caribbean house dry

MEDITE TRICOYA EXTREME (MTX) has been used in a specialised interior fitout on a Caribbean island.

The refit at luxury private residence Casa Blanca was geared especially toward protecting the house from the intense humidity.

Mark Reeve, director of the Wardrobe and Bookcase Company Ltd who manufactured and installed all fittings and doors, chose MTX for the project on the island, where the moisture in the air can reach up to 82% in the wet season.

“Specialist products are often required to ensure interior fit-outs maintain dimensional integrity and stand the test of time in this part of the world,” he said.

“On top of this, the client wanted an extremely smooth and uniform finish to each interior fitting.”

Over 100 panels of MTX were used throughout the house, between the storage furniture, a media centre, the shutters and all interior doors, which are built from two panels of MTX layered together.

Supplied by James Latham, all the pieces were finished in 40% sheen white spray paint, before being shipped to the Caribbean and installed.
