New group editor at TTJ
16 January 2015Stephen Powney has been appointed as group editor of TTJ and sister magazine Wood Based Panels International (WBPI).
For Mr Powney, the appointment represents a return to TTJ after a spell in 2014 supporting WBPI editor Mike Botting and working on other projects at the Progressive Media Group.
He was formerly senior reporter and news editor on TTJ and Timber & Sustainable Building magazines, having originally joined TTJ in 2001. Before that he worked for two newspaper groups.
"I am delighted to have this opportunity to help grow the TTJ brand and will be focused on ensuring it remains the go-to media title in the industry," said Mr Powney.
Longstanding TTJ editor Mike Jeffree has been appointed consulting editor and will work with Mr Powney on development plans for TTJ.
Mike Botting remains editor of WBPI, supported by deputy editor Derek Steel.
