New production line adds capacity to W Howard

Located in Newtown, Powys and part of The W Howard Group, Polyco manufactures real wood veneered and foil-wrapped MDF profiles.

The new equipment brings the total number of production lines at Polyco to five, and doubles the overall capacity for smaller cross-sectional work, including products such as foil wrap architraves and picture frames.

The line became operational in March 2019 and marks the next stage in a busy period of growth for the MDF profile manufacturer, which recently invested in a new warehouse facility near its Manchester headquarters, and also launched a new core profile range.

“We have made this investment to give us maximum flexibility to react to the ever-changing trends in the profile wrapping market,” said Phil Tissington, group operations director.

“The additional capacity can also be used to supplement our other product lines as required.”

Polyco will be recruiting new employees from the local area to help run the line in the coming months.
