New small-format AXYZ router has enhanced performance-to-cost capability

2 March 2021

CNC routing/cutting systems supplier, AAG has introduced the new small-format AXYZ Innovator machine. It replaces the Z-Series of machines and provides an enhanced performance-to-cost capability founded on new and improved design characteristics.

The Innovator incorporates many of the design features and performance capabilities of much larger AXYZ machines but at a commensurately lower cost.

Based on the traditional solid steel frame construction for increased rigidity, aluminium t-slot processing bed and vacuum material clamping deck, the Innovator is available in two standard sizes (1.2 x 1.2m and 1.5 x 2.4m), with a gantry clearance of 152mm. The router features, as standard, a premium rack and pinion drive system with integrated servomotors and the AXYZ A2MC machine control system for faster and smoother machine operation. The machine also comes packaged with dedicated design and production software.

Available for the first time on any small-format machine in its class, Innovator has an optional three-station ATC (Automatic Tool Change) system to allow continuous processing of a wider range of materials without operator intervention. The ATC incorporates a protective cover to eliminate problems frequently encountered with environmental pollutants such as dust and dirt. Other optional features include the latest AVS (AXYZ Vision System) to ensure optimum routing/cutting accuracy and special cooling/lubricating and dust collection systems for improved machine performance and reliability. The compact design of the Innovator makes it ideal for installation in work places where available space might be at a premium.

AAG says the Innovator will process all kinds of solid and particle woods and laminates.
