SCA Wood strengthens customer services

SCA has used technology to quickly react to increased online sales with the appointment of a home deliveries manager, customer service assistant and 20 temporary warehouse support colleagues.

SCA Wood UK has appointed Lisa Harrington as home deliveries manager and Beverley Simpson, customer services assistant, following video conference interviews.

“Lisa has extensive experience in the logistics sector, working most recently for Direct Express Logistics,” said Jan Gritter, general manager at SCA Melton. “Lisa will be fully responsible for all processes from when the customer orders their product online to the day it arrives on their doorstep.”

Ms Simpson has nearly 20 years’ experience in customer service and will fully support the home deliveries online operations.

“Lisa and Beverley were recruited during a turbulent time,” said Lynsey Pace, HR manager for SCA Wood UK. “We are very excited that we have attracted such high calibre people who will be able to improve and expand our home deliveries capabilities through online sales.

“Just like other businesses, SCA immediately embraced the technology due to Covid-19, by having access to numerous conference platforms to suit candidates’ preferences,” continued Ms Pace. “Carrying out interviews via video conferencing was new to SCA, yet we were able to continue to offer a relaxed, yet professional recruitment and onboarding process, allowing candidates to feel at ease being interviewed in their own home and also ensure they really understood our customer focused culture and business processes, without visiting the site.”
