Scotline launches new ship at Rochester

10 July 2017

Around 100 people descended on Scotline’s Medway Terminal at Rochester to see the official launch of the company’s new ship Scot Navigator last Friday.

Scotline observed the time-honoured tradition of breaking a bottle of champagne over the bow of the vessel, the 10th in its fleet, which was built at the GS Yard BV in Groningen.

Scotline customers, including a number of agents, merchants, importers and sawmillers, took the opportunity to tour the 88m-long ship, which has a timber-fitted capacity of about 5,500m3.

A dinner was later held at Commissioner’s House at The Historic Dockyard, Chatham, with managing director Peter Millatt thanking customers for their support over the years and reflecting on the growth of the company.
