Selco reaches new landmark in charity push

12 December 2014

Staff and suppliers of Selco Builders Warehouse got into the swing to raise £6,640 for Macmillan Cancer Support at a charity golf day.

The company staged the event at Essendon Country Club in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, with a total of 65 staff and suppliers playing in the event.

Selco Builders Warehouse has already beaten its target of raising £150,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support, its official charity partner, in three years. The target since 2012 has been to raise £50,000 each year.

The latest £6,640 donation formed part of a £20,000 instalment presented by Selco chief executive Chris Cunliffe to Macmillan as part of the activity around the golf day.

“It was a fantastic day, both for the golf and the evening dinner and auction we had after the round had finished,” said Jamie Robinson, branch manager of Selco Tottenham, who organised the event.

The golf day was run on an individual and team Stableford scoring system format, with Marc Roff, of GRS Roadstone, winning the suppliers prize and the Selco award going to senior category manager Mark Fall.
