Senior changes announced at James Latham

2 May 2017

James Latham has announced that Peter Latham will be retiring as non-executive chairman of James Latham Plc and will be leaving the business at the company’s AGM on August 23.

Nick Latham will be taking over as executive chairman from that date.

Peter Latham has worked for the company for 44 years and has been on the Plc board since 1983, taking over as chairman in December 2006.

During his time with James Latham, he has also held a number of senior positions within the timber industry and is the current chairman of the PEFC International Board. In 2012, he was awarded an OBE in the New Year’s Honours List in recognition of his service to the UK wood industry.

“I would like to personally thank Peter for everything he has done for our family business, especially the way that he has lead the business since becoming chairman almost eleven years ago,” said Nick Latham. “The results speak for themselves.”

“In what is our 260th year in business, I am very much looking forward to taking on this new role and to continuing our journey. It’s an exciting time in the industry and I am relishing the challenge of taking up the reins to carry on Peter’s great work and to addressing emerging customer needs in an ever-changing marketplace.”
