Shannon notches up 25 years

1 February 2019

Timber Connection has recognised their longest serving member of staff Simon Shannon and his achievement in reaching a 25-year milestone with the company.

Mr Shannon joined the business in 1993 at the age of 25, just two years after it was formed by founder and managing director Danny Catherall.

A clear grade softwood trader, Mr Shannon was employed at Timber Connection to add diversity to what was principally a hardwood trading company. Although only his second step on the career ladder, he came with a wealth of experience after eight years at Montague F Upton Ltd, a dedicated softwood agent at that time.

Mr Shannon was presented with a special gift as a token of the company’s appreciation during Timber Connection’s recent staff Christmas dinner. Mr Catherall thanked him for his service, dedication and loyalty.

“You eat, sleep and breathe Timber Connection and I could not have done it without you,” he said.
