Stewart Milne Timber Systems bolsters growth with north-west appointment

6 February 2014

Stewart Milne Timber Systems has appointed John Cain to manage its business development activities in north-west England.

Previously a sales manager for Robertson Timber Engineering's English division, Mr Cain will lead Stewart Milne Timber Systems' push in the region where it has worked on several projects in the last few years, including its Adelphi development in Preston as part of the AIMC4 consortium.

Mr Cain has more than 15 years of experience across the construction sector, ranging from windows and doors to joinery and timber frame. He also has extensive senior management experience, having been regional sales director at Anglian Building Products and northern sales manager for Speed Frame PVCu.

On top of his experience in sales, Mr Cain has a strong background in partnering with clients to deliver value engineered solutions. Having already worked with timber frame in his most recent position, he appreciates the advantages this construction method can offer customers.

Eddie Stanton, sales director for Stewart Milne Timber Systems, said: "We're experiencing significant growth at the moment and we were looking to appoint someone who could develop this in a key area for us.

"John's previous sales experience, particularly in the timber frame industry, will be helpful for us as we set out our stall for growth. The growth in the construction market is presenting significant opportunities for us as a company and the appointment of John will enhance our ability to respond."
