Sweden boosts softwood exports
4 April 2014Sweden’s January exports of sawn and planed softwood were up 7% on the same month a year before, official statistics reveal.
Exports to the UK rose 18.6% to 202,400m3, with 115,600m3 of planed, 48,600m3 of sawn pine and 38,000m3 of sawn spruce. Exports to Europe rose 4.7% to 573,100m3, and to China rose 35% to 39,400m3.
Asian exports fell 6.9% to 141,400m3 and US sales fell 75% to 1,400m3. The average price was up 7.5% to SKr1,952.
