TTF sponsors TTJ Environmental Achievement Award

15 July 2013

The Timber Trade Federation (TTF) says it is proud to be the new sponsor of the 2013 TTJ Environmental Achievement Award at the TTJ Awards.

The news comes as the deadline for entering the judged award categories has been extended until July 31.

The Environmental Achievement Award is open to any company in the timber or associated industries that can demonstrate some form of improvement in environmental performance during the period July 2012 to June 2013.

"The TTF has always taken a strong line on environmental issues," TTF chief executive John White.

"From driving the implementation of the RPP through to promotion of low-carbon building systems and the development of the Wood First Plus database, we have always recognised that the inherent environmental qualities and performance of timber are the industry's USP.

"However, we cannot rest on our laurels. This award rightly recognises those who are striving to improve this overall industry performance. We look forward to celebrating their achievements."

Entries for the award can range from special achievement in environmental certification, improvements in business processes, to the development of products, processes or services with particular environmental benefit for the timber industry.

Meanwhile, Osmose has also confirmed it is sponsoring the Softwood Trader of the Year category. Osmose, a long-time supporter of the TTJ Awards, previously sponsored the Achievement in Engineered Timber Award.

The judged categories are:

  • Achievement in Engineered Timber
  • Excellence in Marketing
  • Environmental Achievement
  • Career Development
  • Website of the Year
