UK hardwood trade gathers in force at new venue

This year’s London Hardwood Club (LHC) New Year Luncheon on January 17 attracted its highest ever attendance – some 220 people.

Due to demand for tickets the event was also held at a new venue – Carpenters’ Hall, while David Howard announced he was standing down as president after four years at the helm of the LHC.

Mr Howard reported that feedback to the event had been “excellent”.

“I would also like to thank our members and their guests who were at the New Year Luncheon for their generosity on the day,” he said.

A raffle raised £3,110 towards the Timber Trades’ Benevolent Society and MacMillan Cancer Support.

Rupert Walker of Timber Link International is to become the next LHC president.

The next LHC event will be a market meeting at the HAC on March 24.
