UK timber trade gathers for annual timber industry awards

12 September 2019

More than 300 timber trade representatives will be gathering in central London this Friday for the annual TTJ Awards.

The Hilton London Bankside will be the setting for the lunchtime and afternoon event, hosted by comedian Zoe Lyons.

Companies will be vying for voted awards across the timber supply chain covering softwood, hardwood, panel products, joinery and structural timber systems, as well as judged categories which celebrate marketing excellence, environmental achievement, smart manufacturing, innovation and career development.

This year the long-running and successful Achievement in Engineered Timber Award has been replaced and expanded into two categories which recognise timber construction projects. And, of course, the top prize of Timber Trader of the Year, sponsored by the Timber Trade Federation, will reward the timber company which has excelled across the board.

Woodworking machinery manufacturer SCM UK has made the trophies again this year on its CNC machining centre technology, using Lignia modified wood.
