University tour for timber sponsors

17 December 2014

Timber industry sponsors of students taking part in the Masters in Timber Engineering course at Edinburgh Napier University toured the construction and engineering facilities.

Partners were updated on the recently expanded Institute for Sustainable Construction, new opportunities being developed in timber-related studies and a tour of the engineering labs as guests of the ten postgraduate students who began their studies in September.

Dr John McDougall, deputy head of the School of Engineering and the Built Environment, said the university hugely appreciated the backing from the timber industry, which helps address the skills gap for specialist timber engineers.
