Assistant Production Manager - Timber - Scotland

Salary in the range £20,000 to £30,000 depending on experience plus pension and bonus

Assistant Production Manager required for a market leading manufacturer of timber engineered products such as timber roof trusses, joists and i-beams, where the contribution of every member of staff to the performance of the business is valued:

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Assistant Production Manager will:

:: Manage all direct labour

:: Take responsibility for training, performance and discipline

:: Plan and achieve production targets and review performance against targets

:: Input into manpower budgeting and recruitment

:: Manage safety and maintenance of plant and equipment

The successful candidate MUST have:

Sales professional to run and develop key accounts, selling manufacturing equipment and tools to timber engineering manufacturers.

The region covers from North of Birmingham to Newcastle - most major urban conurbations and could also include some activity in Scotland.

New business (40%) and key account management (60%) - there will a strong focus on growth.

This is a new role through growth. You will focus on sales to the industrial sector (including manufacturers of pallets, garden buildings, sheds, packaging etc). This role is in the industrial team which will be selling pneumatic tools

We seek a sales professional with key accounts experience who is hungry for success, and proactive about getting it, with a clearly demonstrable track record. NB: We will be asking you to demonstrate successful performance against targets.

Pay: £35k basic with approx £8k bonus (potentially to £40k basic) + car (Passat or similar) + phone + laptop plus a good contributory pension

We seek an experienced sales professional with experience in timber engineering / timber roof truss / i-beams / joists etc, to join a well established company that is now making major steps to advance and grow their market share.

With a new management structure in place they are ready to take on an improving yet still very competitive timber engineering products market.

We seek target driven sales professionals with a systematic approach to developing new business. You will need to be able to demonstrate strong rapport building skills and a people oriented personality, though with the confidence to push for the close and negotiate effectively in a price competitive market. Core markets will be major and regional house builders and building contractors.

ESSENTIAL:

Timber Roof Truss Designer required working with a market leading trussed rafter manufacturer with an excellent long standing reputation in the Roof Truss sector.

With a strong ethos in innovation and development of new roof truss products, the company has grown to produce a range that includes I-beams ( FJI joists ) and posi-strut joists as well as trusses / trussed rafters across the United Kingdom. They work on a wide range of construction projects; both commercial and residential.

The successful candidate will have experience in timber roof truss design, and have used Mitek and/or Wolf design software.

Salary is largely dependent upon experience - flexible in the range £21,000 to £29,000.

Benefits include pension contribution (up to 6%), 22 days holiday (plus statutory days) and a bonus scheme.

Structural Engineer Timber Specialist, Cornwall

Opportunity for a Structural Engineer experienced in timber frame design, to take on a wide ranging structural design role focussed primarily on Timber Frame Building Structures design and estimating, though also involved with a wide range of private development schemes throughout the region.

You will be working in a small team within an architectural and engineering practice, and with good technician and cad support, part of a timber engineering and construction group. You will be able to take full responsibility for all structural engineering and broader technical management on projects, including some estimating.

Experience will cover design in timber frame, steel, masonry, reinforced concrete and foundations. Projects include both housing and commercial developments. Candidates should be Chartered or working towards Chartered status, with working knowledge of the UK codes of practice.

Finishing Foreman role for factory based snagging and inspection work on factory manufactured modular buildings, holiday lodges and park homes.

This permanent job involves carrying out pre delivery inspections on fully fitted out buildings as they leave the factory for installation on site.

The role is similar to that of a finishing or snagging foreman or customer care manager. We are seeking candidates with a hands on trades background and experience in snagging / quality and inspection to demanding standards on redidential and commercial buildings.

CLOSE MATCHING CANDIDATES ONLY wil be considered for this role.

You MUST be living within commutable distance or be able to fully relocate immediately at your own expense (Not lodging away).

Hours:

8 am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8 am to 12.30 on a Friday

Plant Manager - Timber Engineering

Leeds, West Yorkshire

£35 - £40,000 & Car / Allowance

This is a challenging production management role in new a timber engineering production plant. The company seeks a Production Manager to oversee manufacturing of roof truss and other timber engineered products in a competitive lean manufacturing environment.

You will need to ensure the smooth running of the Plant ensuring that all targets are achieved in respect of quality, cost, delivery and safety, while maximising production and minimising down time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Production and Delivery Scheduling

Ensure all key orders are manufactured in accordance with customer requirements and specifications.

Ensure all production paperwork, schedules, specifications, and drawings, are issued to shop floor one week in advance of known demand.

Allocate and control labour to relevant production areas to ensure customer deadlines are achieved as scheduled and within budget.

Ensure the efficient running of the Plant including the accurate recording and review of key performance indicators daily/weekly/monthly. Provide plant-wide feedback on relevant and timely information.

Report on the status of daily production to Central Administration, identifying any areas for concern or anomalies.

Review the planning of transportation daily/weekly to ensure optimum loads and minimise cost.

Ensure that the Plant Scrap Levels and Off-Cuts are optimised to reduce wastage and minimise material loss.

Identify training requirements and ensure development of all personnel to ensure sufficient skill levels are maintained.

Management of all Health and Safety requirements

Management of Quality Management System to meet internal and ISO 9000/2000 requirements.

Control purchasing spend at plant level to budgetary levels.

Implement planned maintenance programs to ensure maximum availability of equipment and reduce levels of breakdown.

Implement and maintain stock control systems for all materials.

Manage any issues arising from staff, including training, disciplinary, grievance etc

Deputise for Production Manager, Plant Supervisor and Technical Coordinator as required.
