Tait to replace Livesey at Egger
17 December 2020The Egger Group has appointed Andrew Tait as its new commercial director for its western Europe division, to succeed Bob Livesey when he retires in spring 2021 after a 37-year career with the company.
Mr Tait joined the company in August 2020 and will be responsible for the ongoing commercial development of its decorative and building panels business in the western European market, through its strong offering of wood-based products for the furniture, building and construction industries. He will continue to support and champion Egger’s positive business culture and well-established reputation across the region.
Mr Tait has more than 30 years of professional sales and commercial experience; he has also worked in procurement, supplier selection and central co-ordination of wood-based materials for the building industry. He brings with him a deep understanding of the relevant sectors in the UK, French, Iberian and Irish markets.
Previously sales and commercial director UK & Ireland for building solutions group Etex, Mr Tait also held the post of purchasing and marketing director (construction) at Saint Gobain Building Distribution (group based in Paris), and spent eight years at Jewson.
This new appointment comes ahead of the retirement in the spring of 2021 of the current commercial director for the western Europe division, Bob Livesey.
Mr Livesey has spent a significant part of his working life with the Egger Group, joining in 1983 as import sales and marketing manager. Over the last 37 years, he has played a pivotal role in driving the transformation of a small import business into a market leading domestic producer in the UK. Latterly he has also held the commercial responsibilities of Egger’s south-west European markets.
Mr Livesey has led and supported Egger’s dedicated commercial teams in achieving the successful growth of its customer base through the development of long lasting, loyal relationships of which he is “extremely proud”.
