A major regeneration scheme to upgrade properties owned and managed by Salford City Council has included extensive use of Akzo Nobel Woodcare finishes.

As part of the project, unwanted communal space at Spike Island is being turned into car parking spaces and timber fencing has been installed to define the boundaries between the houses and public highways.

To fulfil its environmental policy, the council specified Sikkens and Sadolin woodcare coatings from Akzo Nobel Woodcare. Sikkens Cetol BL21 plus was used as a base stain on the fencing and Sadolin Classic was specified as the finishing coat.
