Altendorf says it has revived a “classic” with its new WA80 sliding table saw.

The original WA80 was produced in the 1950s and cost just DM3,700. Altendorf couldn’t quite match that price point, but the new machine was inspired by the original in both its design, performance criteria and affordability. Like its predecessor the new WA80 is aimed principally at the small to medium carpentry shop, possibly as a second machine. According to Altendorf the saw is solidly built and constructed entirely in its Minden factory, It is also delivered ready to work: “All you need to do is unpack it, plug it in and start cutting”.

The WA80 has sliding tables 3200 or 1800mm long, saw speeds of 3000, 4000

or 5000rpm and a “robustly mounted cross-cut mitre fence”. It can handle panel dividing, solid wood ripping, cross-cutting and angle/mitre cuts.
