The company, based in Wellington Bridge, County Wexford, has ordered an SCM Superset Class moulder following the success of an SCM Topset XL machine.
The Topset was introduced to Ballingly’s 5,000m2 factory to replace an older German machine and provide flexibility to react quickly to market demands.
“It’s not just about the type of work we do today, it’s as much about the work we may have to do tomorrow,” said Ballingly’s Pat Kehoe. “Flexibility is the key.”
The Topset incorporates an SCM Control 20 electronic control of the five-axes and a Universal Head.
Ballingly originally decided to keep its old moulder for extra capacity, but the Topset has proved so successful that it placed the order for the Superset, which SCM will have on display at the W6 Working with Wood exhibition at Birmingham NEC.
