CNC Excel has bought three Multiax routers and a second Giben beam saw as part of a significant expansion programme.
The door, cabinet and furniture component manufacturer, a subsidiary of the Allens Group, is installing the machinery at its 100,000ft2 purpose-built factory at Saxilby near Lincoln.
It says the additions, to begin full operation in January, represent a major investment and will improve productivity and enable a greater range of processes for more complete manufacture of components, particularly for the kitchen and related industries.
The routers, built to Allens Group specification, have five heads and twin tables each with a bed size of 3.3mx2.1m to increase output and provide greater flexibility for short batch runs.
The CNC Giben beam saw, the company’s second in the last four years, was purchased to cut panels with the minimum of waste and to a wide variety of sizes to suit all customers’ needs.
The range of CNC processing services operated by the company includes design and product development, tooling, cutting, routing, drilling and membrane pressing.
CNC Excel says the future looks to be centred on continuously investing in new facilities, equipment and up-to-the-minute technical expertise.
Due to substantial demand for vinyl-wrapped kitchen doors, the company is launching its own collection in the latest colours and textured thermoplastic foils at the ASFI show on November 17-20.
