The need to make more use of capacity has prompted Buildbase to take on Combilift multi-directional forklifts at three of its branches.
At the company’s Highgate branch, where space is at a premium, a triple mast was fitted to a Combilift, enabling long loads of timber and sheet materials to be stocked to a height of six metres.
The Combilift’s manoeuvrability allowed optimum configuration of racking at the Newbury warehouse, while the uneven surfaces and gradients in the outside storage area at Cowley, a problem for Buildbase’s existing vehicles, was ideal for the multi-directional forklift.
Buildbase’s group transport manager Phil Alexander predicts Comblifts will be used at other branches in due course.
