The acquisition includes four production lines and resin-making facilities, as well as more than 70 staff.

It enables Uniboard, which produces engineered wood and flooring in North America, to continue to streamline its operation and focus on its core business.

James Hogg, chief operating officer of Uniboard, said: “The sale allows us to further reduce cost in our growing laminate flooring business.”

The deal gives Coveright, which manufactures surfacing materials for decorative, flooring and technical applications, a third North American manufacturing facility to add to plants in Ontario and South Carolina.

Roland Sirois, president of Coveright Surfaces Canada & USA, said: “North America is a growing market for us. This is an important strategic investment that will help us deliver the best possible service to our customers.”
