A tailor-made 5-axis Homag BOF311 CNC machining centre has delivered a host of benefits to Colchester-based Davonport Furniture, according to the firm’s owner.
Richard Davonport said that the machine has reduced wastage, improved efficiency and allowed Davonport to meet the exact requirements of its customers.
The company, which produces a range of bespoke furniture, consulted Homag on the equipment it required, resulting in the 5-axis machine having an extended machine bed, an auto off-load table and a vacuum pump to reduce slippage.
Davonport added that the inclusion of vibration sensors in the main working head of the machine has allowed its deaf operator to remain safe and fully competent during manufacture.
“We are very pleased with this invesment and have the peace of mind in Homag’s excellent service and engineering back-up,” said Mr Davonport.
