Joinery manufacturer Diamonite has made a major investment in machinery to serve its diverse business which ranges from shopfitting to aircraft fitting-out.
The Bristol company enlisted Trymwood Machinery Sales Ltd to specify a long line of equipment comprising a Viet Challenge 323C wide belt sander, a Paolini P3000/200 sliding table panel saw, a Baoini MODU 30/120 veneer press, a Paolini S630 thicknesser and a Paolini TX112 tilting arbor spindle moulder.
Diamonite works manager Andy Harvey said the company’s jobs place great demands on the workshop with flexibility, short lead times and mixed batch runs often needed.
The Viet sander, central to the preparation and finish of final components, was chosen for its ability to calibrate and finish sand solid woods, veneered and lacquered surfaces.
The 1350mm wide machine is equipped with an advanced control system including LCD in-process reporting and electronic invertors on the second and third head to allow the sanding belt speed to be infinitely varied depending on the delicacy of the surface being finished.
