Troubled foresty company Doman Industries has launched a lawsuit against the British Columbia government over the bail out and sale of arch rival Skeena Cellulose.

The company claims that since 1997 Skeena has been kept afloat with C$400m of public money, making it almost impossible for Doman Industries to compete.

Doman chief executive Rick Doman said: ‘Premier Gordon Campbell has propped up an inefficient operation in the province while harming companies who have to borrow in the real market.’

Skeena was recently sold to NWBC Timber and Pulp Co for C$8m.
