The machines now feature cast iron trunions with an extremely hard-wearing synthetic material section mounted in the guidance track of the brackets. The innovation, branded Easy-Glide, means the tilting mechanism can be run lubricant-free, which reduces the need for maintenance and avoids dust build-up clogging the machine.

The synthetic material has been tried and tested for many years, ensuring smooth running of components in heavy earth-moving equipment. “It’s also used in river lock mechanisms, which proves how durable it is,” said Mr Ott. “In fact, it’s virtually wear free.”

He added that the new 700 and 900 saw unit has a “zero tilt point. This means that, when the blade is tilted, the fences do not need to be adjusted to compensate for the new angle,” he said.

Also making its show debut was the new K500S small panel saw. “This is a development of the K500 with an elongated machine base to support longer tables,” said Mr Ott.
