A Timesavers Sandingmaster wide-belt sander has been incorporated into a fully-automatic UV roller coating line to remove a potential bottleneck in Goldcrest Furniture Ltd’s production process.
The Sandingmaster, supplied by Leicester-based TM Machinery Sales, has been installed in bedroom furniture maker Goldcrest’s 25,000ft2 Hereford factory.
The company previously used a 20-year-old Sandingmaster in another part of the factory to sand panels before transporting them on pallets to the UV line. This machine is now sanding items such as drawer fronts which are not UV compatible.
Production manager Gary Teague said putting the new sander in-line with the UV line also removed the possibility of panels being damaged in transit.
The 3300, which together with its dust extraction system cost £40,000, can calibrate and veneer sand. It features the Lindomatic control system and a floating table for veneer sanding.
