Venture capital firm Close Ventures provided £1.4m, with the remainder coming from Oxford Capital Partners and a number of private investors.

Helveta‘s technology, designed to help the timber industry trace timber throughout the supply chain, comprises a tag-based system and handheld computers using barcode or Radio Frequency ID reader technologies, which in turn link into a web-based suite of tools and reports.

“This investment allows us to extend our customer support in the field and push on with our expansion in international markets,” said Helveta CEO Patrick Newton. “Our product is well tested across the supply chain and brings numerous benefits both economic and ecological.”

Helveta‘s technology is in use with customers in the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia.
