An advanced engineering concept linked to a range of high performance truck mounted cranes has been launched by HIAB.
The “X-Factor” is a pre-tensioned boom on the latest HIAB models (the XS 288 and XS 422) that allows loads to be manoeuvred horizontally through doorways and other low entry levels up to 21m from the truck.
The XS 288 is in the 25-30 tonne-metre class, while the XS 422 offers the best performance in the 40 tonne-metre range. The latter also has four to eight hydraulic extensions, making it suitable for close-in work as well as offering the 21m reach. It also incorporates a P boom variant, making it ideal for handling bulky loads at close quarters.
