Howarth Timber York has made extensive alterations to its treatment plant to enable a switch to an environmentally-friendly timber preservation system.
All structural, fencing and garden decking is now treated with Arch Timber Protection‘s Tanalith E formula.
Branch managing director Nigel Room said: “We made the decision to change our treatment system for sound environmental reasons and in response to increasing awareness of green issues amongst our customers.”
He said timber treated with Tanalith E treatment carried the same 15-year guarantee against decay and insect attack as when it was preserved with traditional Tanalith C preservative.
