A KoolKut vertical panel saw is proving its worth at a Kent joinery company which specialises in advertising hoardings and large outdoor display boards.

Increasing customer demand and the need to remain competitive led Icon Displays to buy the KK16 to replace its existing table saw. The old machine required a team of operators to cut a single 10ft sheet of plywood.

Icon’s works manager Andrew Kawczynski said the vertical saw had a smaller footprint than its predecessor and only needed a single operator to cut three or four large sheets simultaneously.

The company also reports easier set-ups and improved accuracy, with the operator no longer having to wait for colleagues to become available before cutting large sheets.

The KK16 from Sagetech Industries represents an investment of just under £4,000 for Icon.
