Lantra Awards, the land-based and environmental training organisation and awarding body, has appointed Jonathan Swift, secretary-general of the International Federation of Hardware and Housewares Associations, as chairman. He has succeeded Tim Attridge, who stood down after seven years in the role.

Mr Swift was formerly group managing director of the British Hardware Federation. Prior to this he was honorary treasurer and director of the British Retail Consortium, with a special interest in government relations and marketing.

Wayne Grills, managing director of Lantra Awards, said: “I am confident that Jonathan will make an important contribution to shaping the company. His experience in marketing will be invaluable to its future development.”

Lantra Awards has more than 30 years’ experience in qualifications and training for people in the land-based and environmental sector through a national network of approved centres, training providers and instructors.
