Lisa Dymock, company buyer at timber frame manufacturer Benfield ATT, leapt off the main boom of the 225ft transporter bridge in Newport recently – all in the name of charity.
Ms Dymock completed the abseil to raise funds for leukaemia charity the Anthony Nolan Trust, and to encourage volunteers to join the Anthony Nolan bone marrow register.
As part of their 2006 Business in the Community commitments, the team at Benfield ATT helped her raise £250 for the charity.
“Our decision to support Anthony Nolan is a very personal one but most people have an experience they can relate to this. I’m proud to think that I’ve both conquered my fears and raised a decent amount of money for a worthy charity,” said Ms Dymock.
