Metso Panelboard is to supply a complete continuous MDF production line to south-east Asian board producer Vanachai Group Public Company Ltd.
The deal, for an undisclosed sum, involves the installation of a 700m3 capacity line at the Vanachai Suratthani plant in Thailand, mainly for producing 2.2-6mm thin board.
Metso has previously supplied three MDF plants to Vanachai, two of which are at the company’s Suratthani site.
The combination of a CoreHeater with the new 29m long press, will enable the line to also produce thick board with a capacity equivalent to that of a 35m press. Start-up is scheduled for the summer of 2006.
